Well, yesterday was the 2nd night of Vancouver’s annual Celebration of Light fireworks festival. When the sun started to set around 9 o’clock, something really incredible happened.
As some low cloud rolled in and the humidity rose, an electrical storm began. It brought with it some incredibly hard rain and painted the sky shades of yellow and orange.
When the sun set, and the fireworks began, the storm seemed to pick up strength. The lightning strikes began to happen more frequently.
After the show was over, and the crowds dissipated, and I thought all the excitement had come and gone, I called it a night and went to bed. Then, around 3 AM, my girlfriend woke me up saying she heard a loud bang outside the building. I grabbed the camera and went to investigate. I first looked out the window and saw a crowd and some emergency vehicles were already on scene. (more…)
Jevan and I had quite the exhilarating weekend. We got intel that Dog the Bounty Hunter and his son Leland were in town. We decided to go on the hunt!
We tracked the two to a casino in Coquitlam, BC. After planning our tactics we decided to go for the surprise attack. We pretended to be a couple of his fans to get close to him and build his trust.
We snapped a quick photo of the two of us posing with the two fugitives before we made the arrest. Dog was not an easy target to track, and boy did he put up a fight when we informed him that he was going back to jail.
Thanks to the hard work of Broken Forty Bail Bonds, we got the fugitives back where they belong. Being the nice guys that we are, though, we forced the fugitives to have a cigarette before they went to jail. We also fed them the usual sappy story of how Jevan and I were in jail and guided them how to change their lives. Hopefully we got through to them and they will give up their criminal lifestyle!
We are hard at work on bringing some content to our anemic media section in the form of Hobo’s Heartbeat, a new web series we will be writing and directing.
The series chronicles the misadventures of Ron, a failed con-man living in his car, who has dodged a conventional ‘work for a living’ life and instead chosen to try to scam his way out of the gutter and into high society.
From using stolen travellers cheques to play the exchange rate, to starting a pop-can-Ponzi-scheme, each episode features Ron chasing rags to riches glory with the help of his band of down-and-out buddies.
We are currently looking for a production partner, so if interested please contact us.
Blogging is much harder than either of us anticipated!
Well here is a quick update on what we’re doing, with more to come very soon:
Lost Case is coming along nicely. We are finished outlining and are going to get started on a first draft within the week, and our goal is to have the first draft completed by Labour Day.
Along with Lost Case, we are in development on a new web series which we are very excited about! We hope to get it into production by then end of July and begin broadcasting it on our site by the end of the summer. We will have some more in-depth coverage on this project very soon, and are really looking forward to shooting something!!
This is becoming like a ‘boy who cried wolf’ situation, but please stay tuned for updates!!!
